Oh Lawdy

Okay, this is going to be a big political rant, so if I am offend anyone, I apologize.

Okay, so for those who don't know, our country is currently in a nearly $1 trillion debt. Yes kids, not million, not even billion, TRILLION. That's a whole buttload of money that could be put to use on what is important, such as social security or education, or even preventing violence in our country.
But recently, president Bush passed legislation that will put aside a few billion more dollars.
For what, may you ask?
To build a fence.
Yes dears, to build a big friggin fence, in order to keep illegal immigrants from coming into the country.
Because, you know, there aren't already border patrol measures AND an existing "fence" taking place, and Mexican immigrants still manage to come into the US. But oh no. This fence I suppose will be BIGGER and BADDER than any other fence before. Perhaps he'll paint evil faces on it to keep the immigrants away.
Or, he could start being responsible and save our country from falling even more into debt by simply taking the steps needed to further adavance border patrol. A big goofy fence is not the way to go, sorry Dubya.

I'm not sure how I feel on the immigration issue, I do agree that they're mostly here illegally and are effecting our economy in some ways or whatever, but I dunno, I think that the reason they come here in the first place is to BECOME a citizen. They want to have to pay taxes, that's what makes them a US resident. If they were uhappy with the way our system works here they never would've come to the US in the first place. But that opens up a whole other can of worms so I'll leave that for a later time.

Any thoughts? Opinions? I don't mind if you disagree, I actually think arguments are good, as long as you're willing to be open-minded.
But personally, I'm just fed up with the downward spiral our country has been taking in the past few years. I do not blame Bush for all these problems, but as a president part of his duty is to take responsibility for our country and find the best way possible to solve them. Is he a good person? Yes, I think so. I think he does care about the American people. But as a president, I just can't seem to agree or believe a thing that comes out of his mouth.

TTFN kids, I promise the next blog will be much more lighthearted.

Hey, are you old enough to vote yet? I hope so! This was a wonderfully intelligent rant. I, too, am horrified by the amount of debt this country has amassed in the past six years!
